Ich lese dieses Buch seit der zweiten Auflage. Es hat sich sehr verändert, aber die Grundstruktur ist zu Beginn gleichgeblieben. Zuerst werden die Grundlagen zwischen Optionen, Forwards und Futures dargestellt. Hedging-Strategien und die Grenzen von Optionen zeigen die Anwendung der Theorie zur praktischen Umsetzung. Es ist mehr theoretisch konzipiert als praxisbezogen. Black-Scholes und das Binomialmodell werden sehr gut erklärt. Der Wiener Prozeß und die Mathematik kommt nicht zu kurz. Die Praxis kommt aber immer wieder in den Beispielen durch. Von Zinskontrakten zu Swaps und Kreditderivaten, das Buch behandelt ein großes Spektrum. In den letzten Jahren wurde der Schwerpunkt auf die Bedeutung der Volatilitäten gelegt. Hier zeigt es die klassischen Betrachtungsweisen von Value at Risk bis zur Statistikmethoden. Theoretisch überzeugt es in den verschiedenen Modellen. Dabei geht er vom einfachsten zum komplizierten Modell über. Alle theoretischen Modelle werden behandelt, sodass auch andere Finanzkontrakte bewertet werden können. Knock-Out Produkte, Binär-Optionen und Kreditderivate. Ein Nachschlagewerk für den Anfänger wie für den fortgeschritten Leser. Es ist immer noch das beste Buch zum Thema. Es ist zu einem Kompendium herangewachsen.
