Ich hatte mir das Buch gekauft, nachdem ich letztens ein sehr intelligentes Interview mit dem Autor in der Zeitung gelesen hatte. Ich hatte mir daher viel von dem Buch versprochen über neue Sichtweisen nach dem Market-Crash und die Zitate zu dem Buch von prominenten Personen der Finanzwelt ließen auch fundamental neues erwarten.Ich fand die Lektüre interessant, aber das Buch hinterläßt eher den Eindruck eines intelligenten und sehr gut informierten, aber trotzdem halbgaren Rundumschlags mit für meinen Geschmack zuvielen Allgemeinplätzen.
Das Buch setzt Mitte 2007 an. Die Märkte der Entwicklungsländer und Rohstoffe finden viel Beachtung. Für den Privatanleger ziemlich makrolastig. Am Ende gibt es eine Asset Allocation, die aber nur teilweise begründet wird. Dazu eine Renditeerwartung von 5-7% real; Inflation 3%.
Mohamed El Erian ist eines der Alphatiere der amerikanischen Finanzindustrie und ein kluger Mann dazu, von dem ich schon diverse sehr interessante Analysen gelesen habe.Um so enttäuschter war ich von diesem Buch. Man hat den Eindruck, El Erian hätte das gesamte Buch an einem Nachmittag herunterdiktiert und der Verlag hat nichts anderes getan, als das Tonband brav abzutippen.Man findet kaum Gedanken, die auf dem Niveau dessen sind, was man sonst von El Erian kennt. Vieles wird kurz angerissen aber nicht ausgeführt. Oft heißt es, Themen würden an anderer Stelle nochmal vertieft aufgegriffen, was dann aber nicht passiert. Eine inhaltliche Linie ist nicht erkennbar, stattdessen wird man mit einem ungeordneten und nicht sehr brillanten Gedankenstrom konfrontiert.Schade, wenn ein renommierter Autor und ein renommierter Verlag auf ihren Ruf pfeifen, nur um eine schnelle Mark zu machen.
