Having followed Mike’s talks and writing for a longer time, I feel his book distills the frustrations down in an invigorating, stirring and eye-opening way. He manages to lay bare the complex interplay of the world we live in today, the role the work of designers (read: our work) plays in it and also the frustrations, disorientation as well as the way designers try to slip out of that responsibility in a way that hurts, empowers, and inspires – in the hope of a better future.Gritty, funny and unconventional as always the book has a no-nonsense and unforgiving tone, without ever being condescending. Written full of anger and love is a very much needed wake up call.
